INVESTIGATING

As of 10:51 AM on June 19, 2026, Bard Unit 1 serving UPS2A experienced a compressor actuation issue that has reduced its cooling capacity. As a result, temperatures within the UPS2A electrical room have increased, triggering an early warning temperature alarm. An emergency service request has been opened with our HVAC provider, and a technician is scheduled to arrive later today to assess and repair the unit. There is no impact to customer services or operations at this time. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as additional information becomes available.

Description

DCX Operations has opened a Planned Maintenance window effective immediately to diagnose and restore one of three HVAC units serving UPS2A. The affected unit is currently unavailable, reducing cooling redundancy within the space. We will be conducting restoration efforts to return the system to its normal redundant operating configuration. No impact to customer service is expected at this time.

RESOLVED

Vendor has completed the remediation.

June 16, 2026 2:44PM MST
IDENTIFIED

The UPS service provider has completed troubleshooting activities. Subsequent investigation determined that the initial transformer fault diagnosis was incorrect. The issue was identified as a blown fuse, which has since been replaced, restoring normal operation of the affected system. During system restart activities, Fan 6 of MMU2, in UPS2A, failed upon restart. The UPS remains fully operational and continues to support the critical load. While internal UPS component redundancy has been reduced, site resiliency and customer services remain unaffected. The UPS service provider has ordered the required replacement parts and will be re-engaged upon their arrival to complete remediation activities.

May 11, 2026 10:40AM MST
IDENTIFIED

The UPS vendor has identified that transformer 2 in UPS2A MMU3 failed and will require replacement. MMU3 is currently offline but UPS2A remains online with 480kW of capacity. Given current load levels, redundancy/resiliency is still achieved. Another maintenance will scheduled once repairs can be made.

INVESTIGATING

At approximately 7:70pm MST on 5/10, UPS2A began reporting an alarm for transformer 2 in MMU3.

Description

On June 16, 2025, Fan 6 in MMU2 of UPS2A failed during service prover restart activities. The UPS has remained fully operational and continues to support the critical load. Although internal component redundancy has been reduced, site resiliency and customer services have remained unaffected. The UPS service provider has ordered the required replacement parts and will replace Fan 6. No impact to customer service is expected during this work.
